You do not need a complicated routine. Gel-X is low maintenance by design. These few habits are what separate a set that lasts three weeks from one that lifts in one.
The daily habit that matters most
Cuticle oil, once a day, every day. It keeps the nail and the surrounding skin flexible, which prevents the brittleness and lifting that ends a set early. It is the single highest impact thing you can do, and it does more for nail health than any break between sets ever will.
Protect the edges
Wear gloves for dishes and cleaning, and avoid long soaks without them, prolonged water is what loosens edges. Do not use your nails as tools to open, scrape or peel things; reach for a key or an actual tool instead. And the golden rule: never peel a lifted tip. If one starts to lift, leave it and come in, peeling it takes the top layers of your natural nail with it. See are Gel-X safe for why this matters.
Come back on time
Most people return every two to three weeks for a fill or fresh set once the base grows out. If a tip breaks before then, we do quick repairs, just do not fix it at home with glue. Book your next visit when the set starts to grow out, not after it lifts.
FAQ
How do I make Gel-X last longer?+
Cuticle oil daily, gloves for cleaning, do not use nails as tools, and never peel a lifted edge. That gets most people to the full three weeks.
Can I get it wet?+
Yes, normal water contact is fine. Prolonged soaking loosens edges over time, so glove up for dishes and long tasks.
What if a tip lifts?+
Do not peel or pull it, come in for a quick repair or fill. Peeling causes most nail damage.
How often should I come back?+
Every two to three weeks for a fill or new set, when the base grows out.
